There are daily trips from Rio de Janeiro directly to Bom Jardim, from the bus terminal Novo Rio. There are also buses leaving every half hour to Nova Friburgo, where there are local bus lines to the city of Bom Jardim and from that city's bus station there is 3km more to reach TIBÁ, which you can travel by taxi.

After crossing the Rio - Niteroi bridge take the highway BR-101 towards Rio Bonito, at Itaborai turn towards Novo Friburgo via the town of Cachoeiras de Macacú. Passing through Nova Friburgo in the direction of Cordeiro you will reach Bom Jardim.

Coming from São Paulo by car, the best way is to go straight on the outside of Guanabara's Bay, taking the road Rio/Teresópolis and after that, before going up the hills, go to the city of Cachoeiras de Macacu and from there to Nova Friburgo. That way you avoid the city traffic. The city of Bom Jardim is about 20kms from Nova Friburgo on the way to Cordeiro.
